FMA and BAR form strategic alliance

 

The Facilities Management Association and the British Association of Removers have formed a strategic alliance to provide a working relationship between the two Organisations’ members.

Both Associations will provide hyper-links from to each other’s websites and are together develop a promotional programme, provide training and best practices, which will include basic subjects such as how to lift correctly.

The FMA represents over 50 of the leading FM businesses across the UK providing a wide range of specialist services.   The BAR membership comprises 500 organisations of which 70 are commercial movers, all of which hold the PAS 126 Commercial Moving Standard, which will soon become BS 8522.

Chris Hoar, Director General of the FMA said when announcing the alliance: “This is the first of many strategic alliances I am currently developing.   The FM sector needs to be working with other specialist organisations in our pursuit of excellence to our marketplace.”

Director General of the BAR, Stephen Vickers added: “The FMA’s approach was an easy decision for both of us.   We both work in the same sector; we share a quest for professional excellence and can help one another with training.  We are looking forward to developing this relationship to the mutual benefit of our membership.” 

Chris Hoar recently joined the FMA from Compass Group.   Already membership has increased by 20% and through its monthly meetings has attracted membership from a wide range of service providers including the media, recruitment, insurance, security, cleaning and other business services.
