BCL are proud
to have worked with many clients over the years. Below is just a
sample of the relocations we have been involved in:
Metropolitan Police
Over the space of one week, our specialist team relocated the Riot Training Centre in Hounslow and the Fire Arms Training Centre in Loughton to a new site in Gravesend.
With the relocation of police staff, using in excess of 1000 crates, office equipment, computers and paper work, in addition to filing cabinets, desks and chairs to accommodate all personnel, this was a move which required the highest level of speed, efficiency and security.
Throughout the week, we utilised in excess of 42 BCL Operatives and 16 X 17tonne vehicles to ensure the relocation took place within the agreed timescale and with the maximum level of security.
The Labour Party
Moving a regular business, their personnel and equipment within the space of one weekend is often stressful and intense, however when given this brief by The Labour Party, our team rose to the challenge with pride and efficiency.
With nearly 900 crates carrying office equipment, confidential paper work and computers, this move required in excess of 12 men.

In addition to the actual move, BCL also carried out an Advance Protection service which enabled our staff to lay and install any protective materials required to ensure nil damage was caused to our client’s new location during the move.
Manchester City Football Club
BCL’s brief was to undertake the relocation of Manchester City Football Club personnel from the old site known as Maine Road to the newly built City of Manchester Stadium over the closed season ensuring that the forward facing image of the club remained unaltered during an emotional transition to the Club’s new home.
We were able to ensure that all departmental relocations followed a strict and confidential removal schedule with minimal disruption to the Club’s day-to-day business relations.
The move involved all commercial operations, the highly valuable and historic trophy room, physio treatment room and manager Kevin Keegan’s personal office suite. The time critical move had to meet a number of pivotal organisation deadlines including the preparation and bookings for the inaugural match against Barcelona on 10.08.03 and the highly anticipated new kit launch from the stunning new Club superstore. All sensitive IT equipment for the Club Ticket Office and support administration services was carried out by BCL's specialist IT division.
Calderdale Hospital (Halifax)
New Site Relocation (From: Old Hospital, To: New Hospital)
Number of staff relocated: Entire Hospital
This project required the relocation of an entire hospital and all working area’s, placing new furniture, providing porterage services, disposing of unwanted furniture and providing an emergency recovery unit vehicle. Also included in this project brief was the task of sequential packing and unpacking of medical records for the entire Yorkshire area.
Over an approximate 4-month period, we undertook all above mentioned services whilst maintaining a workable hospital environment. Our project manager was based on site through the entire working period and was able to surpass all client expectations. Value of contract £230,000.00
Co-operative Financial services
BCL recently dealt with the closure of fifty-four Co-op Financial Services (CFS) branches across the country as part of their restructuring program. BCL’s role in the process included the re-sourcing and scheduling of each move and the disposal of furniture/equipment in the most cost effective and environmentally conscious manor. The above-mentioned relocation program, along with some additional relocation since, has totalled a value in excess of £256,870 since September 2005. The relocation process originally agreed with CFS needed to be restructured to allow audit works to be completed and BCL were able to restructure the relocation to meet CFS’s needs at short notice ensuring business could proceed with minimal disruption.
Manchester City Council
BCL have conducted multiple relocations over the last three years and have relocated moves ranging from as little as three people up to in excess of four hundred people (one example being Cumberland house) Manchester City Councils relocation costs through BCL have exceeded £181,000 which has been spread across over 100 separate relocations.

BCL have also undertaken the re-relocation of the Manchester Museum and works to the value of an additional £83,980 over just a 14-month period.
Stoke City Council

BCL’s work to date has generated over £107,000 despite the Stoke City Council’s management team changing three times throughout BCL’s involvement.
Greater Manchester Police (EQUION FM)
BCL undertook the relocation of Multiple Police stations to sixteen newly built DHQ Style facilities over a period of roughly two years. The relocation included the movement of more than 3,800 staff involving over 400 staff on multiple occasions. BCL used nearly 14,500 crates, relocated in excess of 1,650 pieces of IT kit and estimate that the total relocation volume is in excess of 146,200 cubic feet. The mammoth relocations cost the Police just over £110,000 which is highly competitive considering this figure is inclusive of crate hire.
Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council
Bolton MBC are yet another long standing customer of BCL who have continuously checked BCL’s cost effectiveness by testing the market and have always returned to BCL as their preferred supplier of both relocation services and crate hire. BCL’s turnover with Bolton MBC over the past 4 years has been in excess of £75,600 and the relationship is growing stronger and stronger year upon year.
Manchester
Museum
In
this 9-month project, which required a high level of care and attention
to goods being relocated, our team worked closely with the Manchester
Museum to arrange the transportation of priceless artefacts and
study collections from a secret location to the Museum in Manchester.
Each area of
the museum required careful planning. Move plans were compiled with
the individual curators of each relevant department. All areas within
the newly refurbished exhibition halls were carefully selected in
order that specific artefacts could be placed there in advance of
localised building works.
In addition
to the above, BCL were also responsible for the moving of office
personnel and equipment to join teams at the Museum.
